Screen performance is not simply making every action smaller. It means choosing behaviour that fits the shot and the scene.
The core idea
A close shot can make small changes in attention visible; a wider shot can show how posture and space affect relationships. The director and cinematographer shape the image, but actors can learn how choices read.
How to apply it
Stillness can communicate concentration or resistance when the character is pursuing something. Movement should serve an action such as leaving, closing distance, hiding something, or gaining control of space.
Try this next
Perform the same exchange in a wider and tighter frame. Keep the objective constant, then notice which movements become distracting. Treat this as an experiment, not a universal rule.
