Script analysis turns dialogue into a sequence of choices. Understand the basic circumstances and what the character is trying to change before polishing every line.
The core idea
Read once for the whole situation: who is present, what is happening, what changes, and what remains unknown. Avoid filling gaps with invented backstory before you understand the script.
How to apply it
Identify the objective and obstacle. Look for meaningful changes in information, tactic, or relationship. A beat is a unit of action; not every sentence needs a new beat.
Try this next
Underline three moments when the situation changes. For each, write what the character learns, what tactic changes, or what becomes newly difficult. Rehearse with those shifts in mind.
